Part 2, Pernik to Melnik
We spent the next 3 days
riding south, to Melnik. This was shot just before we found our first campsite,
on
Saturday nite.
We were all so happy to be on our bikes at last. We had lots of pent up energy
from
hanging around
waiting for the bikes to arrive from the airport. The climbs on this first
day were short in comparison
to what lay before
us later in the trip. The longest climb this day about 3k (about 2 miles),
and our total mileage
for
the day was about 65k. We were in such awe of the scenery - every turn revealed
a new panoramic scene.
